Does building your employer value proposition or employer brand position feel like watching one of those house shows where they just knock out walls and rebuild kitchens in a few days? They make it look so easy. But then you pick up that hammer and realize you may be out of your depth. Perhaps it’s time to call in an expert?
The question of whether or not you should try to build your own EVP appeared in a Facebook group of employer brand pros recently. It’s a complex question, one with no right or wrong answer. And certainly, as someone who provides employer brand services, I have a clear bias. But when it comes to building an employer brand position or EVP, there are advantages to bringing in help. If it’s time for you to make that call, I hope this provides an agnostic perspective on when to bring in an expert.
